Plant Quality Lead – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Plant Quality Lead to join a global manufacturing operation in Birmingham. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape the quality strategy, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with highly regulated standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of six Quality Engineers, providing coaching and performance management.
• Partner with operations and engineering to embed customer requirements into manufacturing processes.
• Drive continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and oversee APQP and PPAP implementation.
• Review and approve 8D investigations, manage customer escape and near‑miss investigations.
• Lead customer visits, audits, and quality reviews, and facilitate cross‑functional quality meetings and Gemba walks.
• Support site‑wide quality engagement initiatives and deputise for the Head of Quality when required.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience in quality, quality assurance, or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams and influence at all organisational levels.
• Strong problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, metals, or other highly regulated sectors.
