Platform Business Development Manager – North West

About the role

AJ Bell is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to expand its investment platform across the North West. This field‑based, visible role combines strategic territory planning with hands‑on adviser engagement, giving you autonomy to shape a regional growth plan while leveraging a strong national sales team and a trusted brand.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute a regional business plan to meet new‑business targets and maximise adviser engagement.
• Build long‑term partnerships with financial advisers and advisory firms using a data‑led approach.
• Collaborate with Business Development Consultants and support teams to ensure consistent regional performance.
• Promote AJ Bell’s full suite of investment solutions, including MPS, passive funds and the award‑winning platform.
• Deliver presentations, seminars and technical sessions to showcase the platform’s value.
• Oversee onboarding of new firms, ensuring a smooth experience.
• Use tools such as Financial Express and Touchstone to identify opportunities and monitor performance.
• Maintain relationships with key investment partners and fund groups to maximise regional potential.
• Ensure all activities comply with Consumer Duty principles and regulatory expectations.

Required profile

• Proven success in a field‑based sales or business development role within the investment platform or financial services market.
• Strong network of IFA and adviser firm relationships in the North West.
• In‑depth understanding of platform propositions, SIPPs and investment solutions.
• Desirable: Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and familiarity with AJ Bell’s platform tools.
