Platform Engineer – Hybrid, Manchester

About the role

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join an agile team delivering secure, reliable cloud platforms for large‑scale public sector programmes. The role is hands‑on, allowing you to become a specialist while gaining exposure across the full platform stack.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform.
• Support containerised workloads with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Troubleshoot Linux‑based production environments and improve system reliability.
• Own defined delivery areas and contribute to technical decision‑making.
• Share knowledge, mentor junior engineers and onboard new team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial Platform, DevOps or Cloud Engineering.
• Hands‑on experience operating AWS services in production.
• Strong background with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
• Solid Linux administration skills, including scripting and troubleshooting.
• Ability to obtain SC security clearance (or already cleared).
