Platform Engineering Manager – FinTech (£130K+)

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing FinTech specialist, is looking for a Platform Engineering Manager to lead their Platform team. You will own the team’s output, drive technical evolution and automation, and help shape the future of their cloud‑native platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of platform engineers, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Own the design, delivery and operation of the cloud platform, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Define and enforce best‑practice standards – “what good looks like” – across the team.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation and DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with product and security teams to align platform capabilities with business goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing platform or software engineering teams.
• Strong hands‑on engineering background with a focus on cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction.
• Track record of delivering projects and owning a functional area.
• Experience with legacy tools such as Citrix is a plus.

• Azure cloud services
• AWS (useful but not mandatory)
• Terraform and associated IaC tooling
• DevOps practices and modern engineering techniques
• Citrix (ideal)
