Playworker – Breakfast & After‑School Club (East Dulwich)

About the role
We are seeking a qualified Level 3 Playworker to run the Breakfast and After‑School Club for a primary school in East Dulwich. You will work with reception‑aged children (around 4 years old), providing a safe, nurturing and engaging environment before and after school hours.
Key responsibilities
- Support the daily operation of the wrap‑around provision, covering breakfast (7:30‑9:00 am) and after‑school sessions (3:00‑6:30 pm).
- Lead or assist with structured play, creative activities and games.
- Ensure children’s safety, happiness and engagement throughout the sessions.
- Assist with breakfast and snack routines, maintaining good hygiene standards.
- Build positive relationships with children, staff and parents.
- Carry out daily health and safety checks and uphold safeguarding procedures.
Required profile
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Playworking or an Early Years Childcare qualification.
- Paediatric First Aid certification.
- Experience working with children in a childcare setting.
- Clear enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Required skills
- Knowledge of Ofsted standards and relevant legislation.
- Understanding of the Designated Safeguarding Officer role.
What we offer
- Term‑time, part‑time contract with hourly pay between £13.00 and £15.00.
