Playworker for Extended Provision Clubs

About the role
We are looking for a Playworker to support the Breakfast and After‑School Clubs at West Croft School in Bideford. The role is temporary, covering the current short‑fall in pupil numbers and will run during term time, providing a safe and stimulating environment for children before and after school.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Extended Provisions Leader in the day‑to‑day running of the Breakfast Club (7.30 am‑8.45 am, Monday‑Friday) and the After‑School Club (3 pm‑6 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday).
- Plan and deliver a variety of creative activities that meet the interests and needs of the children.
- Provide additional cover for the clubs as required.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure health and safety standards are met.
- Support children’s wellbeing and promote inclusive play.
Required profile
- Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
- Ability to communicate confidently and fluently in English.
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
- Enthusiasm for working with children in an educational setting.
Required skills
- Experience in delivering play‑based activities for children.
- Basic first‑aid knowledge (preferred).
What we offer
- Part‑time fixed‑term contract (15.25 hours per week, term time only).
- Hourly rate of £13.05‑£13.26.
