Playworker Manager – Breakfast & After‑School Club

About the role

This is a long‑term, agency‑managed position leading the breakfast and after‑school club at a welcoming primary school in Southwark. You will create a safe, fun environment for children before and after the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations of the breakfast (8:00‑9:00) and after‑school club (3:30‑5:45).
• Plan and deliver inclusive, creative activities for primary‑aged children.
• Ensure the safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of all pupils in your care.
• Supervise, support and mentor playworkers, maintaining high standards of care.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and school staff.
• Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and childcare policies at all times.

Required profile

• Level 3 Childcare qualification (essential).
• Previous experience in a breakfast club, after‑school club, nursery or similar setting.
• Proven experience leading or supervising a team.
• Enthusiastic, reliable and highly organised.
• Excellent communication and behaviour‑management abilities.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, fun childcare.
