Plumber / Multi‑Trade Operative

About the role

Axis CLC is seeking a skilled Plumber / Multi‑Trade Operative to join its Guildford team. You will deliver resident‑focused plumbing services while supporting a range of additional repair tasks across social housing properties.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out plumbing works such as leak detection, hot/cold water repairs, immersion tank installation and bathroom/kitchen fitting.
• Perform multi‑trade repairs including wall and floor tiling, 1st and 2nd fix carpentry, patch plastering and painting/decorating.
• Record work in real time using the Axis mobile app.
• Collaborate with supervisors, planners and admin teams to ensure smooth delivery.
• Complete risk assessments and follow health and safety procedures on every job.
• Support apprentices and uphold high standards of customer service.
• Participate in out‑of‑hours emergency call‑out rota when required.

Required profile

• Reliable, adaptable tradesperson with a strong focus on quality.
• Clear communicator who works well within a team.
• Committed to maintaining safe, warm and well‑presented homes.

Required skills

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Plumbing (or equivalent).
• Valid Unvented Hot Water Systems Certificate.
• Experience in tiling, carpentry, plastering and decorating.
• Ability to safely isolate and test electrical components.
• Full UK driving licence and well‑maintained tool kit.
