PMLD Lecturer – Foundation Studies

About the role

Reed Further Education is seeking passionate PMLD Lecturers to join its Foundation Studies programmes. You will work with learners who have profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) as well as related complex needs, helping them achieve positive educational and personal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, personalised lessons to mixed‑age groups with varying abilities.
• Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment that promotes independence and confidence.
• Plan and deliver differentiated programmes tailored to individual learner needs.
• Monitor learner progress, keep accurate records and report outcomes.
• Collaborate with support staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Promote safeguarding and learner wellbeing at all times.

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant subject or a minimum Level 3 qualification with substantial foundation‑learning teaching experience.
• Proven experience teaching learners with ASD, SLD, PMLD or similar complex needs in a Further Education setting.
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to supporting learners with complex needs.
