PMLD Teaching Assistant – SEN School (Warrington)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding SEN school in Warrington. You will work closely with experienced staff to support children with profound and multiple learning difficulties, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with PMLD to facilitate curriculum access and classroom engagement.
• Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each child’s needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to design and deliver strategies for managing complex needs and behaviours.
• Plan and organise sensory‑friendly activities and integration exercises.
• Monitor and document student progress, sharing observations with the teaching team and parents/guardians.
• Participate in training and professional development to enhance specialised skills.

Required profile

• Experience working with children with PMLD or in a similar SEN setting (highly desirable).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills
