PMO Manager

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an inquisitive PMO Manager to champion project management across the full contract lifecycle, from bidding to closing. Reporting to the Head of PMO, you will work closely with project managers, engineers and supply managers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation of business management tools, methodologies, templates and documentation.
• Conform to recognised best‑practice standards and drive continuous improvement for Space Digital.
• Build a Programme Governance culture through education on processes, tools and reporting.
• Manage key stakeholders, facilitate governance reviews and communicate complex information clearly.
• Lead and coordinate the day‑to‑day management of the PMO team assigned to projects.
• Provide oversight and reporting on project performance, including KPIs, issues, dependencies, Earned Value Management and resource demand.

Required profile

• Knowledge and experience of the aerospace and defence industry (desirable).
• Track record with technical projects covering scheduling, logic checking, earned value, risk management and best practice.
• Experience in resource management, planning and forecasting.
• Background working within a PMO, handling scheduling, cost control, risk and configuration management.
• Proficiency with scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project, and risk analysis tools like Active Risk Manager and Primavera Risk Analysis.
