About the role
The NHS Scotland is seeking a reliable Porter/Driver to provide relief cover across all shifts, including days, nights and weekends. The role combines safe vehicle operation with the delivery of essential portering services to support patient care and the efficient movement of supplies within the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Drive NHS‑owned vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes to transport goods, medical supplies and patients between sites.
- Provide portering services, ensuring timely and safe movement of equipment and patients throughout the trust.
- Cover a flexible roster that may include day, night and weekend shifts.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Required profile
- Valid UK driving licence appropriate for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
- Current PVG Scheme membership or willingness to obtain it before starting.
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Ability to work a rotating shift pattern, including nights and weekends.
