Portfolio CFO – Private Equity Value Creation

About the role

This Portfolio CFO position is with a fast‑growing US private‑equity investor. The role sits at the intersection of finance and operations, partnering with portfolio company CFOs and CEOs to drive value‑creation initiatives across multiple businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with portfolio company CFOs and CEOs to identify, prioritise and execute high‑impact financial initiatives.
• Lead EBITDA improvement programmes through margin expansion, cost optimisation and operational efficiency.
• Drive working‑capital optimisation, improving cash conversion cycles for inventory, receivables and payables.
• Upgrade finance functions – FP&A, controllership, reporting and systems – across the portfolio.
• Implement scalable financial planning, forecasting and KPI frameworks to enhance visibility and accountability.
• Support investment teams on due diligence, underwriting and investment case development.
• Assist portfolio companies with refinancing, recapitalisation and dividend strategies.
• Provide finance leadership for M&A processes, including integrations and carve‑outs.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader within a high‑performing portfolio company.
• Strong track record of delivering measurable financial improvements in a private‑equity environment.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP and US accounting standards.
• Ability to work hands‑on, influence senior executives and operate at pace.
