Portfolio Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced audit professional to lead a diverse portfolio of SME clients in Exeter. You will act as the primary contact, delivering high‑quality audit and advisory services while fostering long‑term relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied client portfolio, serving as the main point of contact.
• Plan, lead and review audit engagements from inception to completion, ensuring timely and budget‑conscious delivery.
• Provide strategic business advisory, including tax planning, cash‑flow management and growth guidance.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing queries proactively.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, upholding quality standards across the practice.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Significant experience in an accountancy practice, managing client portfolios.
• Proven audit management experience, from planning through execution.
• Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS102 and UK auditing standards.
• Strong organisational and analytical abilities with the capacity to meet multiple deadlines.
