Portfolio Security Officer – Central London

About the role

This position ensures the safety, security and operational integrity of a portfolio of premium commercial properties in central London. Working primarily outside core office hours, the officer provides a visible security presence, manages access control and responds to incidents to protect tenants and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site security at the main building from 2 pm to 8 pm, including reception coverage, tenant interaction, access control, and closing of communal amenities such as the gym and rooftop facilities.
• Conduct portfolio security patrols between 8 pm and 10 pm, following a predetermined route to inspect commercial offices and retail units, verify locks, alarms and report any security or maintenance issues.
• Act as first point of contact for remote alarm alerts, respond to unusual activity or emergencies, log incidents accurately and liaise with facilities, contractors and emergency services as required.

Required profile

• Experience working in commercial or multi‑tenant buildings with a strong security mindset.
• Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently and travel between sites.
• Professional conduct, clear communication and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proactive problem identification and accurate incident reporting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with access control systems.
• Experience monitoring alarm systems and responding to alerts.
• Familiarity with building reporting platforms for cleanliness, health & safety and security issues.
