Portfolio Solutions Lead Underwriting

About the role

This senior position will shape a portfolio‑led underwriting proposition within a fast‑growing construction insurance business. You will use data, pricing insight and performance analytics to drive smarter decisions, improve profitability and support long‑term growth.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage delegated authority and portfolio structures.
• Develop underwriting strategies at the portfolio level.
• Analyse detailed performance metrics (loss ratios, rate adequacy) to optimise growth and balance risk.
• Build and refine portfolio frameworks and monitor KPIs.
• Contribute to forecasting, scenario analysis and stress testing for business planning and governance.

Required profile

• Actuarial background with a desire to move towards the commercial side of insurance.
• Experience in portfolio analytics, pricing, delegated authority or reinsurance/treaty environments.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate data into actionable underwriting strategies.
