Postal Delivery Driver – Barnes Delivery Office

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver (Postie) at the Barnes Delivery Office. You will be the face of a trusted service, delivering letters, parcels and important items to the local community on a rotating shift schedule that includes weekends and Sundays.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout the local area.
• Build relationships with customers and deliver a variety of items such as exam results, birthday cards and business orders.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and security for all items, including election materials and restricted goods.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit to walk up to 12 miles per day, climb stairs or hills and lift/carry mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.
