Postal Delivery Driver – Part‑time (Yate)

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver in Yate and become the friendly face that brings letters, parcels and moments that matter to local households. The role is part‑time, permanent and involves a rotating shift pattern, including occasional weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Yate Delivery Office.
• Deliver mail by van and on foot across assigned routes.
• Build relationships with customers and represent Royal Mail’s service standards.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, covering up to 12 miles (20,000+ steps) per shift.
• Occasionally work a Sunday shift at the Patchway Delivery Office (12:00‑18:00).

Required profile

• Valid full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) registered to your name and address.
• Physically fit for long walks, climbing stairs/hills and lifting 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
