Postal Delivery Driver (Postie)

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postie in Carterton, delivering letters and parcels to your local community. You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, and enjoy the freedom of being active outdoors while providing a vital service.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Carterton delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout the local area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent the Royal Mail brand.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, handling a variety of items such as exam results, birthday cards, and business orders.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit to walk up to 12 miles per day, climb stairs or hills, and lift/carry mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.
