Postperson (Driving) – Part‑time, Consett

About the role

Royal Mail is seeking a reliable postperson with a manual driving licence to join its Consett delivery team. This part‑time position involves delivering mail and parcels across the local community, working flexible shifts between 09:00‑15:30 or 12:00‑20:00, including Sundays when required.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver mail and parcels to homes and businesses in Consett and surrounding areas.
• Operate a company vehicle safely, adhering to road regulations and Royal Mail policies.
• Plan and follow delivery routes, ensuring timely service within assigned shift hours.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and handle customer enquiries professionally.

Required profile

• Upbeat, independent and self‑motivated.
• Organised, punctual and committed to excellent customer service.
• Comfortable walking for long periods and working outdoors in any weather.
• Strong sense of community and pride in the role.
• Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.

Required skills

• Valid manual driving licence (UK).
