Postperson (Postal Delivery Driver) – Dursley

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postperson in Dursley, delivering letters and parcels to your local community. You will work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, and become the friendly face of a trusted national service.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Dursley delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot across a defined local area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent Royal Mail professionally.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, walking up to 12 miles per shift.
• Handle high volumes of mail, especially during peak periods.

Required profile

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit for long walks, climbing stairs or hills, and lifting/ carrying mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
