Postperson (Postal Delivery Driver) – London

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postperson (Postal Delivery Driver) and become the friendly face delivering letters and parcels across London. You will work from the Upper Edmonton Delivery Office on a rotating shift schedule, including occasional weekends and a regular Sunday shift.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot within your local area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent the Royal Mail brand.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, walking up to 12 miles per shift.
• Handle high volumes of mail, parcels, and time‑sensitive items.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit – able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills and lift/carry mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy, time‑pressured environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.

Required skills

• Valid manual driving licence.
• Ability to operate a delivery van safely.
• Physical stamina for walking and lifting.
