Postperson (Postal Delivery Driver) – Oxford

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postperson delivering letters and parcels across Oxford. You will work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, and be the friendly face of the service for local customers.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Oxford East Delivery Office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout the local area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent the Royal Mail brand.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, covering up to 12 miles (20,000+ steps) per shift.
• Handle high volumes of mail and parcels, especially during peak periods.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit for walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting/ carrying mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy environment.
