Postperson (Postal Delivery Driver) – Thatcham

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postperson in Thatcham, delivering letters and parcels to your local community. You will work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, and be the friendly face that brings important items to customers each day.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout the assigned area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent the Royal Mail brand.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, handling high volumes during peak periods.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) registered to your name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit – able to walk up to 12 miles, climb stairs/hills and lift/carry 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.
