Postperson with Driving – Fixed‑Term (6 months)

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postperson with Driving at the Calne Delivery Office. You will deliver letters and parcels across the local area, using a Royal Mail van and on foot, while working a rotating shift schedule that includes weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office each morning.
• Deliver mail and parcels by van and on foot throughout the assigned route.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers in the community.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including weekends.
• Handle a variety of items such as exam results, birthday cards, and business orders.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your name and address.
• Ability to pass a driving assessment and drive a Royal Mail van daily.
• Physically fit to walk up to 12 miles per day, climb stairs or hills, and lift/carry mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.
