PR and Social Media Executive

About the role

The Portfolio Group is seeking a PR and Social Media Executive to join its communications and marketing team. Reporting to the Content Manager, you will drive proactive PR activities and shape the social media strategy across multiple brands, helping to raise brand awareness and engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop PR opportunities to increase brand visibility and media coverage.
• Write press releases, blogs, advice columns, and thought‑leadership content.
• Create and manage social media content across multiple channels and stakeholder profiles.
• Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with marketing and PR objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media contacts, and industry professionals.
• Monitor media coverage, social engagement, and campaign performance, providing regular reporting and insights.
• Support senior stakeholders with media opportunities and speaking engagements.
• Collaborate with marketing teams on product launches, campaigns, and brand initiatives.
• Manage community engagement and respond to social media enquiries.
• Support charity partnerships and internal communications around fundraising initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in PR, communications, journalism, or a related in‑house or agency environment.
• Proven track record of planning and delivering successful PR campaigns.
• Strong media‑relations skills with the ability to build relationships with journalists.
• Experience managing and coordinating social media campaigns across multiple platforms.
• Excellent copywriting, editing, and storytelling abilities.
• Strong organisational and project‑management capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
