Practice Accountant – ACA/ACCA Finalist (Hybrid, Liverpool)

About the role

We are a progressive chartered accountancy firm located on the outskirts of Liverpool, seeking an ACA/ACCA finalist or recently qualified Practice Accountant. The role offers a flexible, family‑friendly hybrid model (3 days in the office, 2 days remote), free parking and a supportive, output‑focused culture.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies (primarily FRS 105, some FRS 102 1A).
• Produce corporation tax computations, returns and personal tax work for business owners/directors.
• Support clients with management accounts, VAT returns and general SME advice.
• Review junior staff work and contribute to their development.
• Build long‑term client relationships and become the first point of contact.

Required profile

• Nearly or newly qualified ACA/ACCA, or strong QBE/AAT with solid practice experience.
• Proven background in accounts preparation and taxation within a general practice environment.
• Confident, professional manner with the ability to work autonomously.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IRIS accounting software.
• Proficiency with Sage accounting software.
• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
