Practice Director, Quantitative Trading, AI & Capital Markets

About the role

Salt Search is launching a new specialist practice covering Quantitative Trading, AI research and Capital Markets technology. As Practice Director you will build the practice from the ground up, shaping its go‑to‑market strategy and leading its growth within a global recruitment group.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the go‑to‑market strategy for the Quantitative Trading, AI & Capital Markets practice.
• Identify, win and manage relationships with hedge funds, prop‑trading firms, market makers, investment banks and technology providers.
• Personally bill while recruiting and mentoring a team of consultants.
• Leverage dedicated research support in Brazil and South Africa to create repeatable delivery models.
• Develop candidate communities across quant research, development, low‑latency engineering, ML/AI and trading systems.
• Produce market maps, salary guides and talent intelligence reports.
• Organise client events, breakfasts and leadership dinners.

Required profile

• Proven billing history in quantitative trading, hedge‑fund or capital‑markets technology recruitment (typically £350k‑£750k+).
• Strong client development capability within the target market.
• Entrepreneurial drive to build a business unit from scratch.
• Ability to lead, train and mentor a future consulting team.
