PRAM Engineer – High‑Speed Rail (RAMS)

About the role

We are seeking a PRAM Engineer to join a major high‑speed rail programme in the UK. You will translate system‑level reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS) expectations into concrete obligations for contracts and delivery teams, ensuring the railway meets its operational promises from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and disaggregate PRAM requirements across a complex delivery organisation.
• Define multi‑disciplinary technical solutions using specialist analysis tools.
• Track progress through System Level Reviews and support reliability data collection.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities via DRACAS and FRACAS.
• Collaborate with engineers, operations specialists, maintenance teams and safety professionals, influencing without direct authority.
• Escalate issues when delivery is off‑track and ensure corrective actions are taken.

Required profile

• Background in engineering standards, safety or reliability engineering within a large programme environment.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks for rail infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical requirements into practical delivery obligations.
