Pre-Litigation Paralegal

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Pre‑Litigation Paralegal to join our Bolton office. The role involves managing claims through the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) portal and preparing files for court proceedings, supporting both the pre‑litigation and litigation teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and upload claims on the MOJ portal, including Stage 2 packs and Stage 3 proceedings.
• Use Med Co and liaise with medical agencies to obtain reports and conduct AskCue PI searches.
• Value general damages and gather supporting documentation for both general and special damages.
• Draft witness statements and recover credit‑hire, storage and recovery charges.
• Identify cases that should be removed from the MOJ portal and investigate files that have left the portal.
• Prepare files for transfer to the Litigation Department and flag any fundamental dishonesty.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Paralegal handling MOJ portal and post‑portal claims.
• Proven ability to run a personal caseload with minimal supervision.
• Good knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and Pre‑Action Protocols.
• Proactive communication with clients and internal teams.
