Pre School Room Leader

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Early Years professional to lead a pre‑school room across a range of nursery settings in Bristol. You will create a stimulating, play‑based environment for children aged 3‑5 and support their readiness for the next stage of education.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day‑to‑day operation of the pre‑school room.
• Plan and deliver engaging activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
• Observe, monitor and assess children’s progress and development.
• Promote school readiness, independence and inclusive learning.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Ensure safeguarding, health & safety and welfare standards are consistently met.
• Mentor and support other practitioners within the room.

Required profile

• Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum.
• Previous experience working in a nursery or pre‑school setting.
• Experience leading a room or supervising staff in an Early Years environment.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Own transport and willingness to travel across Bristol.
• Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Minimum 24 months’ referencing history.
• Paediatric First Aid certification.
