Precision Engineering Estimator (CNC Machining)

About the role

We are seeking a Precision Engineering Estimator to join a well‑established subcontract CNC machine shop in Leeds. The role involves preparing accurate quotations for precision‑machined components while collaborating closely with customers, suppliers and internal production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quotations for CNC‑milled, turned and ground components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications.
• Liaise with customers to capture technical requirements.
• Work with production to confirm feasibility and cost accuracy.
• Source pricing from suppliers for materials and subcontracted processes.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, enquiries and project data.

Required profile

• Experience in CNC machining (milling, turning or grinding).
• Previous estimating experience or a strong desire to move into estimating.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Good communication and customer‑facing skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
