Precision Inspector – CMM & Metrology (UK F1 Team)

About the role

We are seeking experienced Precision Inspectors to support a leading UK‑based Formula 1 team. Working in Oxfordshire, you will use state‑of‑the‑art metrology equipment to ensure high‑performance components meet exacting engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform precision inspections using CMMs, 6‑ and 7‑axis scanning arms, and vision inspection systems.
• Run and edit PC‑DMIS programs and develop PolyWorks scanning workflows.
• Analyse inspection data, produce detailed reports and flag quality issues.
• Build probes, execute calibration programmes and maintain calibration records.
• Carry out manual measurements with micrometers, vernier calipers, bore micrometers, height gauges, slip gauges, pin gauges, DTI clocks, shadow graphs, thread and spline gauges.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality concerns.

Required profile

• Proven experience in precision inspection or metrology, preferably in automotive, aerospace, motorsport or advanced manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
• Good IT proficiency, especially Microsoft Office.
