Preconstruction Manager – Main Contractor

About the role

Our client, a well‑established main contractor, is looking for an experienced Preconstruction Manager to join its work‑winning team. The role focuses on the strategic front‑end of projects, developing high‑quality tender submissions and supporting the bid process with technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed construction programmes using Asta Powerproject.
• Prepare logistics plans and assess project buildability.
• Develop programme and methodology responses for tender submissions in collaboration with bid writers.
• Maintain project risk schedules and identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Undertake site visits with the bid team to evaluate project requirements.
• Provide technical input to strengthen bid submissions.

Required profile

• Previous experience working for a main contractor (essential).
• Background as a Planner, Project Manager, or Preconstruction Manager.
• Strong understanding of construction methodology, programming, and buildability.
• Proficient user of Asta Powerproject.
• Based within a reasonable commuting distance of St Albans.
