Premises Manager – Educational Site (Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Premises Manager to take charge of the day‑to‑day maintenance, safety and security of a busy school in Merton. This temporary position, starting in September 2026, offers the chance to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee routine maintenance, security and grounds upkeep.
• Carry out inspections, identify repairs and coordinate minor works.
• Arrange larger projects with external contractors and monitor their performance.
• Maintain compliance records, service schedules, risk assessments and statutory documentation.
• Ensure fire safety, water hygiene, asbestos management and emergency lighting are up to date.
• Support health‑and‑safety audits and respond to site emergencies.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Premises, Site or Facilities Manager, caretaker or estates officer.
• Proven ability to manage compliance paperwork and contractor documentation.
• Practical building maintenance and repair skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation.
• Health & Safety qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent) and good IT literacy.
