Premises Manager (Temporary – Educational Site)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Premises Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day maintenance, safety and compliance of a busy educational site in Merton. This temporary position starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to become permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily maintenance, security and upkeep of the site and its grounds.
• Carry out routine inspections, identify maintenance needs and perform minor repairs.
• Coordinate larger works with external contractors and monitor their performance.
• Ensure buildings are safe, clean, secure and fit for purpose.
• Maintain compliance records, service schedules, risk assessments and statutory documentation.
• Monitor fire safety, water hygiene, asbestos management and emergency lighting compliance.
• Support health and safety audits, inspections and reporting.
• Respond to site emergencies and operational issues promptly.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Premises Manager, Site Manager, Facilities Manager, Caretaker or similar role.
• Experience managing compliance paperwork, statutory records and contractor documentation.
• Health & Safety qualification or training (IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of risk assessments, fire safety and safe working practices.
• Excellent organisational, record‑keeping and communication abilities.
