Pre‑School Room Leader

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic Early Years professionals to lead pre‑school rooms across multiple nursery settings in Bristol. You will create a safe, stimulating environment for children aged 3‑5, supporting their learning and school‑readiness through play‑based activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day‑to‑day operation of a pre‑school room.
• Plan and deliver engaging activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
• Monitor, observe and assess children’s progress and development.
• Promote independence and school readiness.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare standards are met.
• Mentor and support other practitioners within the room.

Required profile

• Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum.
• Previous experience in a nursery or pre‑school setting, including room leadership.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Own transport for travel across Bristol and surrounding areas.
• Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
• Minimum 24 months’ referencing history.
• Paediatric First Aid certification.
