Press Setter – High‑Volume Manufacturing

About the role

Our client in Newton Aycliffe is seeking an experienced Press Setter for a 1000T press. The press will relocate from Birmingham to Newton Aycliffe in August 2026, and the successful candidate will initially train on‑site at the Birmingham plant.

Key responsibilities

• Press and tool setting for high‑volume production
• Material handling and feeding of coil‑fed presses
• Programming, operating and monitoring press cycles
• Quality control and first‑off inspection
• Routine maintenance, troubleshooting and reporting
• Ensuring health, safety and compliance standards are met

Required profile

• Strong technical understanding of press tooling and feeding systems
• Proven experience with high‑volume, coil‑fed tri‑axis transfer presses, coil‑fed progression presses and single‑stage forming presses
• Power Press Safety Certificate (Pewer) and good H&S awareness
• Experience as an Auto Press Setter, preferably in automotive manufacturing
• Ability to work under pressure and record production data accurately
• FLT or Overhead Crane certification is desirable but not essential
