Primary Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teaching Assistant to join our Blackpool Academy for the 2026/2027 academic year. The role is term‑time only and offers the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of pupils aged 7‑11 within an inclusive, trauma‑informed environment.

Key responsibilities

• Intervention Lead – deliver targeted, high‑impact support to small groups of pupils, focusing on closing attainment gaps in Maths and English.
• General Class TA – provide whole‑class assistance alongside the classroom teacher, fostering positive relationships and managing behaviour through emotional coaching.
• Implement progressive learning ladders and support the delivery of the KS2 National Curriculum.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a KS2 Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of the KS2 National Curriculum, especially core literacy, reading and numeracy.
• Commitment to inclusive values and the ability to work with a diverse community.
• Alignment with the school’s ethos of excellence, respect, ambition and resilience.

Required skills

• Knowledge of KS2 curriculum content and assessment standards.
• Experience delivering targeted interventions in Maths and English.
• Ability to support whole‑class teaching and manage pupil behaviour through emotional coaching.
