Primary KS2 Class Teacher (SEMH) – East Grinstead

About the role

This full‑time, term‑time position is for a specialist Primary KS2 Class Teacher in a dedicated SEMH provision. You will work in a supportive rural setting, helping pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs achieve their academic potential.

Key responsibilities

• Create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment for SEMH learners.
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated KS2 lessons across the curriculum.
• Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants to maximise pupil support.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies and uphold high expectations.
• Monitor progress through regular assessment and adapt teaching to individual needs.
• Support the development of literacy and communication skills.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to whole‑school development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching KS2 students.
• Strong interest or experience in SEMH/SEN settings.
• Excellent behaviour management and relational teaching approach.
• Collaborative, positive team player.

• Ability to deliver creative and adaptable lessons.
• Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills.
