About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Primary Learning Mentor to join a primary school in Stechford, Birmingham. The role begins in September 2026 and focuses on supporting pupils who need additional help with behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions aimed at improving behaviour, wellbeing and academic engagement.
- Work closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team to remove barriers to learning and foster positive relationships.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Learning Mentor (essential).
- Recent experience working with children in a school setting.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Experience supporting pupils with social, emotional or behavioural needs.
- Confident, patient and positive approach.
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to provide suitable references covering the required period.
