Primary Outreach Tutor – 1:1 Bespoke Tuition

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking Primary Outreach Tutors to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to young people who currently lack a school placement. You will design and deliver tailored lessons that re‑engage learners, boost confidence and help them return to mainstream education.

Key responsibilities

• Create, plan and deliver bespoke 1:1 lessons that address individual learning gaps.
• Provide structure and routine for pupils who have been out of education for an extended period.
• Monitor each pupil’s progress and work closely with Prospero Teaching to ensure effective learning outcomes.
• Adapt teaching times to suit the family’s schedule and deliver sessions in the pupil’s home or community setting.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Proven UK classroom teaching experience.
• Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional child‑related references.

Required skills

What we offer

• Part‑time hours (6‑15 hrs per week per student) with flexible scheduling.
• Hourly rate of £25 – £30, depending on experience.
• Temporary contract lasting until the pupil can re‑integrate into a school placement.
