Primary PRU Learning Support Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a resilient Primary PRU Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils who have SEND, SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. You will provide the structure, consistency and belief these children need to thrive in a supportive school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with special educational needs and social‑emotional difficulties.
• Manage challenging behaviour with calm, firm and fair approaches.
• Build trusting relationships with each child, fostering confidence and progress.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to deliver tailored interventions.
• Celebrate and document breakthroughs and milestones.

Required profile

• Ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Experience working with challenging behaviour.
• Understanding of relationship‑building importance.
• Commitment to making a genuine difference for vulnerable learners.
• Relevant qualifications, training and a valid enhanced DBS check.

• Temporary, full‑time position with a daily rate of £92.65‑£110 (inclusive of statutory holiday pay).
