Primary School Teacher (Nursery to Year 4)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Primary School Teacher to join Moon’s Moat First School and Nursery for the academic year 2026‑2027. The role covers teaching from Nursery through Year 4, fostering both academic progress and personal development in a vibrant, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the early years curriculum.
• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a nurturing atmosphere.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to support pupil wellbeing.
• Contribute to whole‑school initiatives, including safeguarding and pastoral care.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience in the primary age range (Nursery to Year 4).
• Strong classroom management and a caring, inspirational approach.
• Reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional development.
• High expectations for pupil achievement and progress.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment for learning.
• Understanding of safeguarding guidance and requirements.
