Primary SEN Teacher – Camden ASD/SLD Class

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Primary SEN Teacher to join our new Camden school, supporting pupils aged 4‑11 with moderate to complex learning difficulties, many of whom have an autism diagnosis. The role starts in June on a permanent basis and offers the chance to work within a well‑resourced, multi‑sensory learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a multi‑sensory curriculum for EYFS, KS1 and KS2 pupils.
• Assess individual pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse needs.
• Collaborate with three full‑time teaching assistants and an HLTA in each class.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to the school’s safeguarding and behaviour policies.
• Participate in the extensive induction programme and ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching in an SEN environment or strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and national curriculum for KS1.
• Commitment to delivering calm, creative and measured teaching presence.
• Ability to work with pupils who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and specific learning difficulties (SLD).

• Effective classroom management and differentiation techniques.
