Primary SEN Teaching Assistant – Bolton

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary SEN School in Bolton starting September 2026. This full‑time, term‑time position offers the chance to support children with a variety of special educational needs in a nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver personalised learning activities.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance to help pupils achieve individual goals.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Help maintain a safe, positive and stimulating learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with children, preferably in an SEN, education, care or support setting.
• Patient, compassionate and committed to each child’s success.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Adaptable, proactive and resilient.
• Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
