Primary SEN Teaching Assistant – Brighton

About the role

Reed Education is seeking compassionate individuals to join primary schools in Brighton as Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants. You will work alongside teachers to support pupils with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve their full potential in an inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in delivering tailored lessons for SEN pupils.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to reinforce learning objectives.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with teachers and parents.
• Help create a safe, supportive and adaptable learning environment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including specialists and external agencies.

Required profile

• Experience working with children who have special educational needs.
• Relevant qualification in SEN support or education (NVQ, CACHE, Degree or equivalent).
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with teachers, parents and professionals.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEN strategies and inclusive teaching methods.
