Primary SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role

Join a welcoming primary school in Chelmsford as a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social‑emotional and mental health needs across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group interventions for children with additional needs.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, the SENCO and external therapists.
• Assist pupils academically, socially and emotionally to promote inclusive learning.
• Help implement individualized support plans and monitor progress.

Required profile

• 1st Class or 2:1 degree from a reputable university.
• Strong academic background and genuine passion for SEN.
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Aspiring educational psychologist, therapist, teacher or SEN professional.
