Primary SEN Teaching Assistant – September Start

About the role

We are seeking two enthusiastic Primary SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming one‑form‑entry primary school in Borehamwood from September 2026. The role involves providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, helping them overcome learning barriers and build confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Support minimally verbal EYFS children to encourage communication and engagement.
• Assist KS1 pupils with autism to participate in lessons and develop independence.
• Provide emotional regulation and behaviour support for KS2 pupils with SEMH needs.
• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions and differentiated activities.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SEN staff and the wider support team.

Required profile

• Patient, caring and nurturing approach.
• Genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs.
• Confidence working with autism, communication difficulties or SEMH needs.
• Ability to build strong relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.

Required skills

• Experience or strong interest in supporting pupils with special educational needs.
