Primary SEN Teaching Assistant – Temporary (Day Rate £100+)

About the role

We are partnering with primary schools in Medway to provide experienced SEND Teaching Assistants. The role starts after the half‑term break and runs until the end of the academic year, offering both day‑to‑day supply and longer‑term placements.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
• Implement individual education plans and adapt activities to meet each learner’s needs.
• Assist the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting observations to teachers.
• Apply behaviour‑management strategies for children with ADHD, challenging behaviour, or additional learning needs.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with primary‑age pupils who have SEND.
• Familiarity with ADHD, challenging behaviour and other additional learning needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships within a school community.
• Flexibility to cover both short‑term supply and longer‑term assignments.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEND support strategies.
• Behaviour‑management techniques.
• Effective communication with teachers, pupils and parents.
